"Yeah, bein' a cop doesn't require much either, especially not in a small town," he says with a small smirk. "And I got lucky here, showin' up before anyone else did, so once the rest of the department showed up, they just all sorta assumed I'd been here all along and could be trusted."

He'd never had to prove himself, he'd never had to take any classes or show any certificates. He knows that's really lucky, that anywhere else things would be a little different for him.
